Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actor, dancer and performer since the beginning of the 1990s. Her career began with Broadway career with musicals such as Wicked, Legally Blonde, and Hair. The Tony Award was given to Ashford for her performance as Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford Tony Award winner actor has worked with many acclaimed actors and directors on stage and screen. She continues this award-winning career through her forthcoming projects. Ashford's next project will be an exclusive Hulu series titled Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show will premiere on the 22nd of November and Ashford is starring alongside Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently working on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch Bachrach. The film will be released as an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford is set to appear opposite Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the March 2023 revival of Stephen Sondheims Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will form the team of creators for the musical. Ashford was most recently seen as Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment which is based on the crisis in America that picked up Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters for the first impeachment hearings in over one century. Her two-season stint on the CBS show B Positive was her first big role. In addition, she appeared on the hit series created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, that starred legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. A veteran of Broadway Ashford has won both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her role as Essie. Some other Broadway credits for Ashford are Sunday in the Park, as George Wicked legally Blonde, as well as the role of Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance she received a Tony Award nomination. Her birthplace and childhood was in Denver Ashford currently splits her days between Los Angeles and New York.
